How to choose an internet provider in Lviv: 8 questions to ask before you connect

Compare more than the price and the "up to" speed. What matters is whether the internet works during blackouts, whether the provider shows independent data on network quality, whether there is IPv6 and 24/7 support, and whether the monthly fee can change.

Below is a checklist with Kopiyka's answers. Ask any other provider the same questions and compare.

FAQ

Questions about choosing a provider

How can I check a provider's internet quality before connecting?

Ask for independent ping and uptime data, not just the "up to" speed. Our ArgusNOC measurements update every 30 seconds on the network monitoring page. After connecting, you can test the speed with our guide.

What matters more: speed or ping?

Speed matters for films and downloads; for gaming, video calls and remote services it is ping and the absence of packet loss. High speed with unstable ping feels like lag in games and calls.

How do I know whether a provider has its own network?

An own network has an autonomous system (AS) number in the RIPE registry. Kopiyka's is AS51500: the fibre network is ours, and we have built and maintained it ourselves since 2007.

How do I work out the real price of internet?

Count the total for a year, not just the monthly fee, and check whether the price can change during the contract. At Kopiyka, on plans paid for 1 or 2 years the price is fixed for the whole paid period.
